Kevin Garnett – he plays in a small market & year after year the Timberwolves give him no help. He’s been the MVP once & got robbed of it the year before he won it & has also been the all-star MVP. He is the most versatile big man in the game. He doesn’t shoot as well as Dirk but Dirk can’t guard him he’s too athletic & he doesn’t have the post fundamentals of Tim Duncan but Duncan can’t guard him because of his guard like skills. He has lead the league in rebounding 3 of the last 4 years & is always in the top 15 in points & usually top amoung non guards in assists. Put him on the Spurs for Duncan & they would have 7 rings instead of 4!!!!
Tayshaun Prince. He is the best defender on the Pistons (and one of the best in the league), their most consistent scorer, and he gets no respect and love from the media because, like Tim Duncan, he just does what he does and doesn’t hype himself up and isn’t exciting. How many times has he saved the Pistons by making ridiculously hard blocks that nobody thought he could make (ask Reggie Miller)? A close second would be Shawn Marion. In the 2005-2006 season he led the Suns in every statistical category (except assists)…and Steve Nash was the MVP. How’s that for underrated?
Elton Brand He puts up the same numbers as KG or Tim Duncan, but he never gets mentioned in the same sentence as those guys because he plays for the Clippers
Probably Paul Pierce. He has similar skill sets to all the great swingmen of the league: Kobe, LeBron, D-Wade, T-Mac, VC, etc., but he never gets recognized for it because of how bad his team sucks. Chris Bosh, Michael Redd, and Antawan Jamison are also very underrated. Nobody talked about Rashard Lewis, Zach Randolph, or Jermaine O’Neal for the past few years either, but now that Lewis is a free agent and Randolph and O’Neal could be traded, almost every team in the league is in a buzz to get one of them. Funny how things change, isn’t it?
TJ Ford Bosh gets all the credit for leading Raptors to their first Division Title but no one ever mentions Ford. Ford averaged 14 PPG, 7.9 APG, 1.4 SPG and shot 43% from the field. If thats not underrated for you I do not know what is.
I think it is Ray Allen Ray Allen made about 70 more treys than 2nd leader in 05-06 Season. Even though he didn’t play all 82 games in 06-07 season, he averaged more than 24 points while making more than 2.5 treys per game. He always puts his number relatively quietly among his competitors, such as Carter, Pierce. He can dunk really well, too, even though his dunk is not as flashy as Kobe’s or Carter’s. Because he is not very a flash player, but rather quiet and consistent player, he does not get credit for what he is doing every year.
Anthony Parker… better than battier by far yet battier always gets praised.. hes a good teamplayer too.. 50% shooting for a sg is good and he nails threes and plays lock down defense.
Drew Gooden….He gets a double double almost every night, and still all you hear from analysts is Lebron has no help! That maybe true in every other position, but Gooden brings it!
I think for folks who pay attention, Manu gets his due. He is a star. I think it may be Luol Deng. Early in the year, he was trade bait, but was dominant in the playoffs, and he is still very young. He will get better. Also, probably not underrated anymore, but I had no idea that Deron Williams of the Jazz was that good.
WITHOUT QUESTION IT IS MICHAEL REDD. THE GUY IS 5th IN THE LEAGUE IN SCORING AND DOESN’T MAKE THE ALL STAR GAME. LAST YEAR HE DOMINATED KOBE ON ALL MEETINGS.

Tim Duncan, played for so long but no appreciation. Finals MVP should go to him.

rashard lewis he is a dominant scorer and because the sonics suck and paccific games nevere air anywhere else no one follows his great talent
Earl Boykins
Anyone that small doing as well as he does against way bigger guys takes some HUGE stones and deserves BIG props.
deng, definately Luol deng….
I think that it’s Leandrihno Barbosa. He was the rookie of the year a few years back, and now he’s benched just because of Steve Nash

Bruce Bowen. All you hear about is his defense. How about his 3′s in the finals.
TJ Ford

Tayshawn Prince He’s 1 of the Best Defenders in the League
Gerald Wallace.
He carried my fantasy team last year, and you barely hear a thing about him.

Paul Pierce its just another case of a good player on a bad team
i think its carmelo anthony because he averages more points than both lebron and d-wade but they still get more publicity than him
