Bad teams need good management.
To me, that is why some teams like the Charlotte Bobcats and Minnesota Timberwolves can’t seem to climb their way out of the cellar.
I think the Indiana Pacers have a great set-up and Larry Bird, the GM, has done a lot of good for the franchise.
They got a HUGE steal in the draft a few seasons ago with Danny Granger out of New Mexico University and have a lot of solid pieces around him.
Mike Dunleavy and TJ Ford are good pieces. and young.
Roy Hibbert and Brandon Rush are both very talented rookies. and young.
Troy Murphy is an underrated, excellent big man and could net the Pacers some good value at the trade deadline or this off-season.
Maybe—just maybe—things are looking up in Minnesota.
After tugging themselves out of their 13-game losing streak just after Christmas, the Timberwolves have gone 9-4. Al Jefferson is tapping into his potential, on both sides of the ball. Randy Foye has finally found his niche at shooting guard. Craig Smith, since becoming a starter, has averaged 10.3 points on 58 percent shooting, in just 23 minutes per game. Kevin Love’s rebounding is making Timberwolves fans (I know you’re out there!) forget about O.J. Mayo’s scoring. Even Sebastian Telfair has begun to look like a credible NBA player.
It figures to get better. The Timberwolves have a pretty valuable trading chip, Mike Miller, who can be used to add to the pile of youth Kevin McHale has collected. And there’s the draft. Through its many dealings over the last two years, Minnesota could have as many as four first-round picks in this year’s draft—its own, plus the picks of Miami, Boston and, possibly, Utah.
So I think it’s the Timberwolves who’s going to get better and are headed to the right direction.
They are of course already better than teams like the Clippers who seems to be headed nowhere despite the talent in the team.
I think the Timberwolves and Grizzlies have outstanding futures. They do suck this year but in the future they will be great teams.
Charlotte Bobcats and the Memphis Grizzlies but in the 09-10 Season
charlotte bobcats, we have a better record since the phoenix-charlotte trade and we are improving under larry brown
