Excluding the following players: LeBron James, Kobe Bryant & Dwayne Wade.
My 5 would be:
C-Tim Duncan
PF-Chris Bosh
SF-Carmelo Anthony
SG-Joe Johnson
PG-Chris Paul
I think this starting lineup would be a nice mix of offense and defense.
So excluding the top 3 in the NBA who would you choose as ur starting 5?

C- Tim Duncan
PF- Dirk Nowitzki
SF- Carmelo Anthony
SG- Brandon Roy
PG- Chris Paul
This is a very clutch lineup that has a complete center in Tim Duncan who can dominate the low post. It has Dirk Nowitzki who can lure bigmen away from the paint so that Tim Duncan can operate in the post without help defense bothering him and also Dirk can get doubles and pass out to Melo or Roy plus Dirk would be a great closer for this lineup. Carmelo and Roy are two of the top 5 perimeter players in the NBA and they will cause havoc for teams along with Cp3 who can get Dirk open shots, along with the rest of the group and he causes many steals as well.
C-Greg Oden
PF:Tim Duncan
SF:Dirk Nowitzki
SG:Brandon Roy
PG:Deron Williams
This is line up is preety much good to me,it has mix of everything.Greg Oden and Tim Duncan are complete big men who are balanced and great+one of the best defensive centers/players + good at offense. They rebound the ball great and are good defensive mix in there. They also give good offense with offensive boards/put backs in/hook shots/post game etc.Duncan is still productive 20/13/2 guy and Oden can produce 17/13/3 easily
Dirk Nowitzki is a nightmare at Small Forward. He’s big enough to shot and score from every place from the floor and is great rebounder. He’s one of the most productive players in the league and can guard forwards because he’s fast.
The back court is great.Deron Williams is the best PG with Paul in the NBA,he’s a pass first PG who’s good scorer and good at the defensive end plus he does a decent job on boards.Brandon Roy is clutch making player/great mid range scorer and driver, plus he’s good defender and getting steals isn’t too problem for him
I would go with Steve Nash or Jason Kidd as point guard…I guess it’s just a result of watching their amazing assists but both Nash and Kidd are also legitimate scoring threats as Steve Nash has been averaging over 18 points a game this season and Kidd has been making more than 40% of his three-pointers.
On the center position, I’d have to go with Dwight Howard. Sure he might not have a game outside of the post the way Duncan does with his bank shot, but you don’t need him to shoot the ball when you’ve got other perimeter threats. Pass him the ball when he’s got the deep post for an easy two points or throw the ball around until you get an open shot. And just factor in twenty+ rebounds per game along with a couple blocks.
Shooting guard…I like Rashard Lewis. His three point accuracy is superb, and he can still shoot from inside the arc, drive, and post-up. Not to mention fadeaway.
Power forward…I think Pau Gasol would be a nice choice. You don’t need EVERYBODY on the team to be an amazing scorer, a good combination of center and power forward to set screens and grab rebounds is also necessary, as I couldn’t pick Kobe and his amazing ability to create shots.
Small forward, I concur with Carmelo Anthony. Although technically, Anthony IS among the top three and Dwayne Wade is not, according to this year’s stats in scoring.
I’m not exactly an NBA expert or anything, but I think this would be a great team. You’ve got Rashard Lewis as the outside threat and occasional inside player, then Carmelo Anthony as another scorer. Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol get rebounds, provide the inside game muscle, and set screens. Then get Steve Nash or Jason Kidd to set up the game and shoot when everyone else is covered.
PG – Steve Nash (statistically haing the best season of his career and the best PG in the league right now)
SG – Joe Johnson (most underrated player maybe ever to play in the NBA…can flat out score from anywhere and play defense….barely gets any media attention)
SF – Carmelo Anthony (Can score from anywhere….and when hes on fire….no one can guard him)
PF – Dirk Nowitzki ( Hes the best European player off all time….and one of the best/most consistent in the NBA…..Lock for the Hall Of Fame)
C – Dwight Howard ( Blocks Everything, Rebounds Everything, Dunks everything)
I think my picks would be
C- Dwight Howard- Blocks defense offense rebounding
PF-Kevin Garnett – because of defense leadership and rebounding + nice mig range shot
SF- Paul Pierce – one of the best alaround players in the league
SG- Brandon Roy – Just a bit better than Joe Johnson + is used to playig with a dominant Low post
PG- Steve Nash – a little better with his left hand a better from behind the arc which would be a plus with Howard.
c-dwight howard
pf-kevin garnett
sf-gerald wallace
sg-richard hamilton
pg-chauncey billups all premier defenders. i know the offense may not be the best but how would you scorer or even get offensive rebounds on them. plus none of theme are selfish and rip and billips have expierence togerther a backourt that ruled the eastern conference for many years.
PG: Deron Williams
SG: Brandon Roy
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Dwight Howard
Because head-to-head Deron always puts the straps on CP3. Durant brings in a little more on the defensive end than Carmelo. Roy, Dirk, Deron are clutch. Dwight Howard is pure dominance.
PG – Steve Nash (MVP-caliber)
SG – Ray Allen (for the clutch)
SF – Carmelo Anthony (scoring)
PF – Chris Bosh (averaging 20 and 10)
C – Dwight Howard (can’t really think of another Center right now)
C-tim duncan
PF-kevin garnet
SF-paul pierce
SG-kevin durant
PG-mike bibby
yah some of the positions aren’t what they actually play but it still would be an awesome starting line up
C-Tim Duncan
PF-Dwight Howard
SF-Carmello Anthony
SG-Ray Allen
PG-Chris Paul
Duncan and Howard give some nice down low talent. Anthony and Paul would be the team’s flashy stars and Allen can just shoot.

C-Marcus Camby (He’s been traded so many times, but look at his stats, he’s an amazing player. He left the clippers and placed Portland firmly in the Playoff race, and is averaging double doubles on a nightly basis)
PF- LaMarcus Aldridge (Underrated player, great with long-range jumpers, and can post up)
SF- Carmelo Anthony (I think everyone can agree that Melo is just great)
SG- Brandon Roy (My favorite player, and very underrated. Roy can do it all, defense, offense, everything. Look at this guys stats, and when on the court, he’s extremely efficient and humble. Doesn’t change facial expressions that often)
PG- Andre Miller (Face it, this guy is probably the most underrated player out there. He left the Sixers and look at them now, they’re garbage. Portland had to face numerous injuries including Roy’s and Miller guided them through a hell of a schedule and they STILL are in the playoff rankings. I mean, because of his leadership, Portland is tied for 6th in the western conference)
C-Marcus Camby(he gets the offensive and deffensive boards almost everytime)
PF-LaMarcus Aldridge(if they are down by 20, he brings them back to win the game if Roy is injured)
SF-Paul Pierce(has one of the best foot-work in the whole NBA)
SG-Brandon Roy(one of the best clutch players ever)
PG-Andre Miller(practically does everything for the Blazers)
C-Dwight howard(just dominates in the paint) PF-dirk nowitski(has a jumper and can move big men from the paint for d12 to work) SF- Carmelo anthony(can score at any moment and anytime pure scorer) SG-Brandon roy(just so clutch and a great player) PG-Chris paul(unbeliveable.he can score, pass, and play defense.a great point guard overall.period and with a team like this the record would be 70-12.
