I am just curious if a National Championship game has ever been played where the two teams competing were both from the SEC? Like even way back before the BCS took over. Anyone know???
When the playoff’s occur, then you will see it, and teams that did not win a conference has won the NC. But tradition of conference determined bowl games is killing the sport.

Before the BCS, there was no official National Championship game, so no.

the only ncaa football national championship games are in division 1aa, 2, and 3.
division 1a is settled by polls, voters, and computers
i don’t think so because i dont think you can get to the national championship game without winning your conference.
No, and damn few when the SEC has had ONE team! (except Alabama)
I have no idea about that but I do know it has happen in the Big 12 with Nebraska and Oklahoma of course you didn’t ask about that
