Overrated: Stephan Marbury. If a player has the nerve to call himself the best point guard in the league, that’s as good a clue as any that the dudes hype far exceeds his actual skill.
Kenyon Martin. Primo example of how playing alongside a great player (Jason Kidd) can make a player look better than he really was.
Baron Davis. Might be worth most of that hype if he could stay close to healthy, but he hasn’t even played 60+ games for the season since 2002-03.
Underrated: Elton Brand. Has been consistantly overlooked for no other reason than he plays for the Clippers. That’s pretty low considering the dude has averaged a double-double for most of his career.
Josh Childress, Another guy whos underrated because of the team he plays for. One of those guys that can do some of everything that every team needs. Plus he has the greatest ‘fro in the league right now.
Delonte West, Boston ditched Marcus Banks cuz of this guy stepping in and just being so damn good. West just jumped into the point and proved himself a good shooter, a good defender. Boston got better when they made him a starter, and he barely got any notice for that.
Eeewwww, I just praised a Celtic. I feel so dirty.
